Dealing with toxic employees by Kumudu
Dealing with employees who do not perform their duties properly is serious challenge faced by the heads of organization. Dealing with them can be more trouble, because of such employees the strength of the organization energy, team morale and productivity is undermined by the company’s bankruptcy.
Heads of organization need to be aware of how to direct such employees and also such uncontrolled employees should be identified and strategies used to control them.
How we identified difficult employees?
• Lower performance
• Unsatisfied customer relationship
• Create unpleasant working environment
The reasons for crate disruptive employees
We could point out more facts for this.
• Lack of motivation
• Lack of ability
• Poor communication
• Personal problems
• No self-confident
The impact on the team because of difficult employees
The behaviors of such persons affects the entire team. These people always have bad attitudes and often show late attendance, omissions, quarrels, not reporting to work without pre arrangements. This may have been overlooked at first, but as it continues other employees also may change their attitude. For this situation the performance of the organization will go down. As well as they put our business and reputation at risk.
Furthermore because of this disruptive employees behaviors, other employees may suspect our leader ship ability. Not all employees who act contrary to the leader’s ideas act against the organization. Sometimes these employees have more vision than the manager. Managers have to make decisions about the employees who has such ideas.
How to resolve the situation?
In handling such an employee the manger should display their skills without exposing their mistake. The role of the manager is to support them and find solution. Such employees have no understanding of how their behavior affects their work and the environment. This must be understood very subtly. Difficult employees not always hard, Then discuss their negative behaviors very cordially to help them understand the problem.
These behavior may be result of experience in their work environment. Therefore, the opportunity should be provided to get the feedback of the employees and to express their feedback freely.
Manager can listing to make sure he understand what they are saying. Listen to your employee’s side of the story without prejudice. Sometimes such employees just needs someone to listen and understand them tis often helps change their attitude and behavior.
Conclusion
Such difficult employees are always seen in an organization, they have to adopt the working environment. Encouraging them to do the right thing will enable them to increase the efficiency of the organization.
